Dr. Marc Marion and Dr. Christina Fernandez have been serving the Carleton Place community since 1988. We provide general practice care which includes care from newborn to elder. We offer minor surgery and inpatient care at Carleton Place Hospital. Dr. Marion provides anaesthesia services at Carleton Place Hospital and also offers pain management consultations.

HOW DO I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?

  • You can book an appointment in-person or by phone. When booking in person, please ask for appointment card for confirmation. *COVID-19 Update: We are only booking appointments over the phone.

  • If you would like a reminder for your appointment, please provide us with your email address and a reminder will be sent to you.

WHAT TYPE OF APPOINTMENT DO I NEED?

  • We do our best to see you promptly if you are sick or in crisis. 

  • Your time is valuable and we strive to stay on time. 

  • Please let our receptionist know the reason for your visit so that we can book the appropriate amount of time for your concerns/needs.

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY APPOINTMENT?

  • Bring a valid Ministry of Health Card to each appointment.

  • If you do not bring a valid health card you will be billed at Ontario Medical Association rates. 

    • A $25.00 administration fee will also be billed. 

    • These fees are removed if you let us know about your updated  Ministry of Health Card information  within 30 days. 

  • Some of our patients and staff have severe allergies, so please remember:

    •  Do not bring nuts, nut products, fish or latex products (like balloons).

    •  Avoid using scented products like perfume, cologne, after shave, body sprays or hair care products.

  • Bring all your prescription containers to your visit. *COVID-19 Update: Have your prescriptions easily available to discuss with your physician. 

  • Bring a support person if you wish.

HOW DO I REFILL MY PRESCRIPTION(S)?

In-person Renewal:

  • Please remember to bring all your prescription bottles.

  • We will refill your prescriptions to last you to your next visit.

  • So that you do not run out before your next visit, remember to book an appointment when you pick up your last repeat at the pharmacy. 

Phone or Fax Prescription Renewals: ​

  • If you or your pharmacist, requests a phone or fax renewal, there will be a prescription renewal fee billed to you. Click on the Uninsured Services link for further information.

HOW DO I CANCEL MY APPOINTMENT?

  • To cancel an appointment, please call us at 613-219-3214. *COVID-19 Update: Do not come into our office to cancel an appointment.

  • We require 24-hour notice for cancellations.

  • If you missed an appointment, and no notice was given, you will be charged based on Ontario Medical Association rates, and billed directly.

WHAT ARE THE RESULTS OF MY TESTS?

  • You will be informed of all medically significant or abnormal reports. We will call you to request an appointment to review results and organize further testing or treatment if needed. 

  • If you wish, you may request an appointment to review normal test results.

HOW DO I SEE A SPECIALIST?

  • If you would like to have a consultation with a specialist, book an appointment with us so that we can assess your concern and refer you appropriately.

  • Let us know if your would like to see a specific consultant.

  • Contact us if you do not hear from the specialist within 4 weeks of being referred.

UNINSURED SERVICES

  • Certain services and procedures are not covered by the Ministry of Health.

  • A list of these services and fees can be found by clicking here

  • Fees will be charged directly to you or to the third party requesting the service. 

  • Payment may be made by debit, credit, cheque or cash.

  • A receipt will be provided.

 

URGENT CARE

After Hours/Same Day

  • If this is an emergency, call 911.

  • If you need to assessed by a health care provider and it is not an emergency, you can book an after hours/same day appointment.

  2. If you are unable to reach us, call McNeely Medical Centre Same Day Clinic  at 613-253-2233 ext 1.

  3. If you are still unable to reach us on these numbers, call Telehealth Ontario at 1-866-797-0000.

If you are calling to cancel an appointment, leave your name, the date, and the time of the appointment on our voicemail. Let us know if you would like us to call you back to reschedule your appointment.

Due to the need to safeguard your confidential information, we cannot leave detailed information on your voicemail. If we are unable to contact you personally, we will leave a message asking you to return our call.
